Its no news that sensory-based advertising has made its rounds on some of the most popular marketing and advertising campaigns. A company in Brazil is taking “taste-based” advertising to a whole new level by offering a variety of flavored parking tickets as a way to awaken your consumer senses.

Now I am not talking about parking violations, we are talking about those small tickets that eject from a machine when you enter some sort of public parking structure. Advertisers now want to brand on being more than in your face, they want to fully experience their brand by falling in love with it at first taste or smell.

How did this Brazilian company tie sensory advertising to parking tickets? Often times we don”t even realize it but some of us typically at one point tend to hold the ticket in our mouth while we are in search of keys, money, or even looking for a parking space. I am definitely guilty of this one!

Food and beverage companies can definitely benefit from this type of advertising. The very thought of infusing a flavor or smell into a relatively small piece of paper brings new meaning to what we know as Scratch and Sniff. This type of sensory advertisement is intended to catch the consumer’s sensory attention for them to look at whats printed on the ticket.

Of course this type of advertising may not appeal to the masses but it sure is a unique way to capture anyone’s attention.
